Shout out to Srodek's! Was home for a wedding this past weekend and made a quick trip to Srodek's in Hamtramck. Purchased a large order and had it vacuumed sealed and bagged. After I we returned to Kansas City, noticed our order was wrong. Contacted Rachel that following Monday and she immediately corrected the error and shipped out the right product! Thanks again and highly recommend!

Great polish market and Hamtramck staple. They pack in a large assortment of quality Polish products into a little store. Staff is super friendly. Housemate pierogi are unique and tasty.

I was surprised that Yelp said I already reviewed this Srodek's location, since I have never been until yesterday, but in the past I tried out their pierogies, hence the review. Yesterday I was in Hamtramck for work and FINALLY got to stop by this location, their first store - their second is in Sterling Heights, which I have been to a few times. I was only in the store for about five minutes, mostly to shop for pierogies. It *looked* like the pierogies (frozen ones, in the frozen case) were only $5 and change per package, which was a good deal, so I bought three packages; however, upon checkout, one was $5 and change and the other two were $8, which I felt wasn't clearly stated. I ended up getting sweet potato, garlic and chives, and farmer's cheese - the more "traditional" varieties like potato, farmers cheese, etc. are available upon checkout. You can pay with cash or credit card but there's a 4% fee to use a credit card here, so I paid with cash. Overall it's a nice store, and I can vouch that their pierogies are great, but I do prefer the Sterling Heights location, which is like 4x the size, over on Mound Rd.

April 2022 experience & review: I moved to Atlanta from Detroit years ago, and often crave tastes from the mother land. In this case, it was Polish food from Hamtramck. Fortunately, Srodeks ships! I ordered two huge rings of fine kielbasa with veal and pork (vs chunky), and two 12 count packs of mushroom pierogi. The total was just over $40, a very fair price. Shipping was expensive ($30ish UPS 2 day air), but that's to be expected. I'm guessing it's a pass-through cost. They ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, so pay attention to that if your order is time sensitive. The products are shipped frozen, in excellent packaging with reusable freezer packs. I was very pleased with the temperature of the food items upon arrival. Note - when you order food like this, make sure to track the delivery so you can immediately freeze or refrigerate it. Their kielbasa is the best I've ever had, and their pierogi are a good size, hand made and authentic. They make over 20+ varieties. I like the mushroom, that is a unique filling and it's not very common. Both of these items freeze well, so don't worry about ordering too much food, like I did! Enjoy!

My sister, on her first visit to Michigan from Texas, had done her research and Srodek's on her itinerary. Thanks, sis! I had no idea what a treasure was just down the road from me. She loves history, food exploration and pieroges so Srodek's was her perfect tasty trifecta. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. #1 - loved that they were open and not crowded. #2 - loved the reasonable prices. #3 - loved that the counter folks were patient and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The selection of pieroges was awesome! We came home with: 2 breakfast blend (egg and sausage), 2 potato farmers cheese, pizza (pepperoni, mozzarella, mushrooms, tomato basil sauce), spinach and artichoke, potato cheddar cheese and bacon, strawberry and apple. Each package contains a dozen, so yes.....that's 108 pieroges if anyone is counting, but who's counting?! Some were only available from the freezer case, but no worries for us since most will be frozen for a flight back to Texas anyway. They are so so easy to heat up in butter stovetop. Had the breakfast ones for breakfast Monday morning. Yummy!! Srodek's is chock-full of polish grocery items, wines, and bakery items. And the meat and cheese case are equally as impressive as the pieroge selection. There are sausages and smoked meats in a variety of blends and grinds. We came home with pork and veal sausage, sauerkraut, sour soup mix, rye breads and a beautiful confection called "Angel Wings" covered in powdered sugar. They were in fact heavenly! Hope the rest of my sister's visit goes as well as this first stop! Can't wait to see what else she has in store for me!

Being polish dose have our perks and this right here is one of them... this is one of the historic landmarks you think of when your grandma is showing you how to make stuffed cabbage, dill pickle soup, Angel Wings... and Holly smoked sausage... your making kielbasa you better be stopping here to add the meats... I mean who would of guessed... so many choices... 5 types of smoked sausage... *(Mind Blown)* The perogies... this place is all about options... not just the typical, potato and cheese, farmers cheese, and cabbage filling... OH NO NOT HERE... Buffalo Chicken Perogi! Cheeseburger, scrambled eggs, steak and cheese.. Wow. This is NOTHING like grandma Gavalinski made. And oh my gosh are they all amazing!!! If your in town you need to check this place out!

There is a very good reason that this long standing Polish deli and market is busy. They have the most amazing pierogis of all different kinds and an outstanding selection of sausages and meat. Their pierogis are hands down the best in the Detroit metro area. The kraut and kraut mushroom are absolute must purchase. Additionally the corned beef/Swiss and pulled pork are personal favorites. Not traditional picks, but are well worth trying. We prefer to get our smoked and fresh kielbasa here as we just don't find the same quality elsewhere. We always run into people around the holidays, who come in from quite far away, to bring a little bit of their childhood memories of food back home with them for their Holiday meals.

The best of the best of the best. Srodek's is what I look forward to having the most at DCFC games. Their stand has led me to a new level of pierogi addiction, and the best part is that they sell them all in store! So that means when I can't get enough of their Philly cheesesteak pierogis at a game, I can head on over to their storefront and eat more until my belly hurts. Because you know...that's the sort of disgusting things I do. Their pierogis aren't the only thing worth mentioning. Their kielbasas are usually my date at the game. Topped with sauerkraut and horseradish, who really needs a man after that? Let's be real. No one wants to talk to me after I inhale that baby. Again, I'm disgusting, I know. The staff is always super helpful and kind. Don't miss this stop when you're in Hamtramck!
